Peggy and Andrew Weinstein met in Rome ten years ago. Neither of them discussed religion until much later, when they decided to have a bi-religious wedding ceremony in France, Peggy’s home country. No French rabbi would accept to share his religious authority with a priest for the celebration so they eventually had to bring a rabbi from New York. When their first daughter, Lily, was born, the Weinsteins decided they would raise her in both religions since both were reluctant to give up their heritage. Their second daughter, Colombe, was born three years later. The family is now part of the Interfaith Community and regularly participate in the organization’s celebrations.
